Marty is lying about the murder too. Would be way too easy to figure out if someone went missing from that time period after an investigation. The guy supposedly worked at the same place as him, all they would have to do is ask someone who worker there at the time. And the guy sold drugs to people around the place, and I'm sure they could find someone who knew the guy from that alone at the time.

He's a liar, that's what he does. He's never killed anyone.
