people like to talk about mark contract on this board but UFC has the ultimate mark contract. literal nobodies will sign with UFC because they're the biggest company and by signing with them, they consider themselves elite and only fight once every 2 years, probably on short 1-2 week notice, and only get paid like $4k.

They're stuck with worse ones that are usually in bad locations, and the issue is if they can prove the practice exists it gives enough cause to rule on it. Up to the court at that point but it's well within the range for them to choose to.

WWE exclusivity is based on the presumption that WWE gets first booking for their talents but in practice it's used more like an employment contract which is crazy how nobody has taken WWE to court over it. For example legaly a company can't tell their Independent Contractor no you can't take X bookings even if they aren't working said day. WWE can legally say you are contractually obligated to work Y amount of days and you are gonna get paid Z amount for said work.

not sure, nothing like that has ever happened before. WWE has lost or settled lawsuits in the past but antitrust violations are a bit more serious. If nothing else, it will probably keep WWE from blatantly sabotaging other feds for a while. It is also possible that the WWE/UFC merger could be blocked by the government on the grounds that it's monopolistic.
