Cody I can kinda understand, sort of, maybe ... he was injured for a long time, I knew they'd milk the thousand day reign because they didn't have the foresight during Sammartino and other golden era dudes that these impossibly long reigns would bite them in the ass decades later with shorter audience attention spans, cancel culture, and generally finding a guy with a build, skills and looks interesting enough for tv would be in short stock. I knew they'd at least push over to Summerslam because having that "longest in x years" was something that was needed and I kinda see that happening next year if Cody is healthy.
They didn't build him up with Brock unless they wanted him to go over someone big.
