He got the big singles push and arguably had/has a better look. Even if you think Christian is the better worker and promo (valid opinions) Edge is still good enough for it to not gimp him when comparing the two.

Edge had the look and the charisma. Christian got mogged hard as fuck when they first debuted as the Brood.

It took a while for Christian to grow into his own. He got better with age but Edge was already in line for massive pushes at this time, and Christian was destined to flounder in the midcard.
Christian became the better wrestler in the end, yes, but Edge was the right guy at the right time to actually be an ascendant star. It really goes to show how much timing can play a role in stardom.
