Will he ever be taken seriously or will he always be seen as New Japan trying (and failing) to replace Jay White with someone much less talented?

I do like Finlay because he makes AEW trannies seethe but I can't take him seriously.

he really should have gone with more of a traditional irish look when he turned. Short neat hair, IRA jacket. Gedo is going by 'bloody hand' now which I initially thought was in reference to the red hand of ulster, but it seems outside of the sheleighleigh he doesnt have anything tying him to his heritage as a gimmick.

When Devitt left, they got AJ Styles. When Styles left, they had Kenny Omega. When Nakamura left, they got LIJ Naito. When Omega left, they had White and Ospreay. Now finally White has left them and Ospreay is soon out of the door too. This is the first time in many years that New Japan has been truly hurt by someone leaving their promotion. They have no replacements left. They have War Dogs and some other Gaijins on their roster but they still need time to develop. NJPW can't afford to pull off 2014 Roman Reigns shit like WWE did.

Bottom line, tolerate this no dimes shitter for a few years until one of the four War Dogs grow up into the top heel for New Japan.
