NWA is the primary promotion and always has been, all american wrestling stems from the NWA and if it dies american wrestling dies.
WWF/E and Impact are secondary since they used to be NWA shows.
MLW is an indie so it's tertiary.

Impact might technically be third still, but I’m not even sure about that. I don’t get the TV channel that airs their show. I don’t think I could get it in my area if I wanted it. I feel like MLW is better poised to grow a little bit. The weekly show is accessible and free, and they have a subscription model for their PPVs, which makes their show very affordable. Seems decently entertaining, like they’re trying to incorporate elements of what makes WWE successful into their indy show. I might actually check out their next big event. NWA is in very rough shape. It feels so cheap and some of the gimmicks are just so terrible, and they have the worst world champion in history.

ONLY the NWA world title traces directly back to the original world title. It may be s small indie fed but their title lineage is more prestigious than WWE or AEW.

no it did not. The WCW title was unified with the NWA title for a few years. Then it was de-unified. At the time when Vince bought WCW, the NWA world champion was Steve Corino. ANY attempt to tie the WWE title to the original title is dishonest fuckery that relies on the theft of another company's history.

That's what the WWF/WWE did, that's what WCW did, that's what ECW did, that's what TNA did, and quite a few others. There is no legitimacy to such claims and they are nothing but carny excuses.

You can't really rank them linearly. Impact is cheap filler programming for a Canadian TV network and has a wider reach but has drawn worse in recent memory than shindies like GCW. The others are sub-GCW tier shindies with the aesthetic of a bigger promotion.
