If you want to know more, even skipping details and exact dates this is a text wall:
I am fairly convinced Punk refused to drop the belt because he had some stick up his ass from backstage heat hence the Interim title was born AFTER the announcement. Moxley ran with it because the company had to have a champ, I suspect this was begrudgingly.
As Punk returned and did a shoot on Page, this burned all the hemorrhoids of Mox. This started that stupid promo war that escalated to the point they both ran out separately on Dynamite and Rampage to yell shit and culminated leave contracts in the middle of the ring. I don't believe all the shit they did was a work, Mox is seen throwing actual receipts on those chaotic brawls.
Punk threw the first match with a FAKE leg injury because Mox was roughing him out in the match, he was stiffing him and he didn't want to give him a clean victory and it's possible Mox was planned to job to him to begin with which Mox would have done but with bruises on Phil.
This resulted in the rematch being an absolute Michaels-Hogan from Mox as well as burial of GTS as Mox made sure Punk had to lift his sandbagging ass 3 times for it. Mox was told by TK to do the job and that was that. It's still by far the most based thing the bleeding enthusiast has done and a high point of his career that he put Phil through all this shit.
To be clear, it's all my analysis and speculation of the events, I watched all that tape multiple times and concluded it was too good to be all act and work. Mox isn't that good, Phil isn't either to fake his crying anger eyes. This is why Punk doesn't dare to throw shade at Mox anymore.
