You're a star when you're bringing in constant viewership for your company, getting interviews, being in the headlines. The part that matters isn't the quick and easy popularity boost of doing good on home turf, but rather showing that you can keep that momentum when on the road around America. Tony has shown in the past to squander this sort of thing over and over. He catches something good, but then doesn't go anywhere with it, letting it fizzle out. Then the ratings drop and average out around 700k until the next big PPV where he manages to repeat it all again.
