I’ve been thinking about it and honestly Kenny’s AEW run kinda cemented him as having one of the bigger falls from grace as far as wrestlers in ring careers go
He was touted as one of the best of the world in New Japan, but was so sawdusted by the time AEW was a thing that he couldn’t deliver on all that momentum he had and was too broken down to be their Ace. His title run being a critical flop and the only matches that come close to recapturing that magic he had in New Japan being his tag match with Hangman against the Bucks, his match with Danielson, and his matches against Ospreay at WK and Forbidden Door.
Will has undoubtedly replaced him, hopefully he will take care of himself enough to have the longevity Kenny didn’t

I think this is a fair assessment and mostly accurate. I don't think we have seen the last of Kenny yet though.

I like Kenny but you have to admit he hasn’t lived up to the expectations people had for him going into AEW. Guys like Moxley and Punk have been more consistent workhorses for the company. Kenny has spent most of his run either out with injuries or lost in the shuffle doing heatless programs with the bucks.

Vikingo, Pac, the best of 7, Fenix, the matches you mentioned, Mox cage. Shit most of them have come after the injury layoff. He was sawdusted in NJPW and got by probably on pills. He's still top 2 in the world, or 3.

Ospreay has had so many great matches, its hard to even remember them all. I think people talk about his ones with Shingo as the best, but also Okada, he had a great match with ELP this year. he's just a rock solid quality match factory

For me it just comes down to that they both make awful, fake, facial expressions that take me out of their matches. But Osprey in the last couple of years has learned to not do that all of the time. That said they're both still trashed compared to most indie guys 20 years. Never mind real wrestlers in the 80s and 90s.
