>>11202270Bro, these joint venture companies are always little more than a way for the foreign companies to do all the talent scouting, setting up, etc. while the Chinese part basically just watches what they do/steals company secrets, then closes down the company and reopens it under a different name with everything related to the company and with full Chinese ownership and everything.
A good example of it is what happened when the management group for AKB48 did a spinoff group based out of Shanghai (SNH48) where the chink management did exactly that. They spent a few years letting the Japanese management build everything up, then the think management group basically stole the group, said the Japanese management group that started it didn't own anything, and IIRC 48g hasn't bothered with China again focusing instead on places like Indonesia, Taiwan, and Thailand with more success.
You're never doing business in China, all you're really doing is essentially setting everything up so the chink investors can rip you off.
