Depends on the facts of the case. If he ran a guy off the road and flashed his gun at him then that's bad. If some other guy was raging at him and he flashed his gun to tell him to fuck off then that's less bad.

Not really. You don't escalate a confrontation by threatening to shoot somebody to shut them up because they're upset with you. If the guy was yelling threats from his car or even got out of his car and approached Wheeler's then fair enough, but in that case he wouldn't have even been charged.

Florida is a permit less, concealed carry state, but not an open carry state. Meaning that it is legal to have and show a concealed weapon as long as you have a permit. The permit in Florida though is "shall issue" which basically means that as long as you meet the low requirements of not having a criminal record or DUI's you have easily obtain a permit to conceal carry. That being said it is not legal to use your concealed weapon to threaten another individual on the road or otherwise. You are legally able to carry a bat in your car. You can not threaten someone with a bat though.

This. Plus the fact that it costs money to take somebody to court. They don't charge people and initiate costly criminal proceedings unless there's enough evidence for a reasonable chance at conviction. They've had several weeks to gather evidence, if all they gathered in that time was flimsy hearsay, he wouldn't be stood in front of a judge.

You've never been int rouble with the law. Court system is made to milk money and or time out of you. It is a whole carny system that gets the city, and lawyers paid at the expense of citizens who get caught in its machine. You have to go through the machine regardless of whether you deserve to be in it or not. Once you have been arrested you're already fucked. Now its a whole process, even if everything is "thrown out".

Yeah I forgot the criminal justice system in America was a capitaist enterprise. I'm British so it's a little different. They have to charge you within 24 hours otherwise they have to release you, and the Crown Prosecution Service won't agree to charge you without sufficient evidence to make it worth the money taking you to court.
