It's clear he's still in negotiations but is aware of the possibility that WWE lowball him and/or won't let him go out on his own terms.

He knows he's got Tony Khan money and at least one more thing with Christian in his back pocket. But he's also got to see that once he goes to AEW, then he'll never have this kind of leverage with WWE again. Vince and Nick Khan were happy to let every old guy go to AEW and drain AEW's payroll and mess with the optics of its brand.

Basically he's still weighing his options on which company will make the better package deal offer for a "final run"
