Why won't AEW just start renting smaller venues to fill them fully and get a better atmosphere?
It might also temporarily increase sales

he used to before punk came in except back then he was booking small buildings when he could have been selling more tickets in big buildings. then punk came in and he has crowds that could fit in the small buildings in the big ones.

Everyone wants to do the big massive sell-out arena show.
That the small condensed sell-out house has a far more massive atmosphere is lost on those people.
ECW was great in small houses, and rubbish in bigger venues because the crowd's so far away that you can't hear them through the feed.

I think they will start booking smaller buildings again. It seems like Tony booked a bunch of big buildings with the expectation that Punk's return a few months ago would lead to some big boom period for the company but that never materialized
