It’s funny how every time you see wrestling nostalgia online it’s always the Attitude Era or sometimes Ruthless Aggression. Nobody cares about the Golden Era or New Generation. Despite other things from that time period like heckin neon synthwave, grunge, shoegaze, Sonic, etc being popular, apparently the wrestling isn’t one of them.

I’m talking about wrestling nostalgia in 2023. On Twitter it’s always "WWE was wild for this" and shows a Stone Cold or Thuganomics clip. Nobody cares about Bret, Shawn, or Hulk anymore.

Because while Hulkamania was a boom for the business of the WWF it was a huge down turn for wrestling throughout the country.
Where people would literally go to see Memphis, Mid South, AWA, WCCW and JCP once a week. People would now see WWF once every two years, or in many cases stopped watching wrestling.

I see plenty of WWF nostalgia. Shame if it is being overlooked, though. I watched SummerSlam 1989 this weekend and saw nothing but pure joy in that arena - something modern day wrestling just can't create anymore with very few exceptions.

I remember being a wrestling fan before Raw and Nitro started, but I honestly can't remember how I was watching it or any of the matches. All I can remember is being at a WCW house show with Sting vs Vader main event.

The R&R (Golden Era) gets a funny rap these days because 98% of the wrestlers from that era are DEAD.
And not just dead, they died a horrible ending. Not seeing their senior years, leaving countless wives and children behind, looking cringe in the light as compared to their stardom which was at one time as big as MTV and most of the famous pop cultures of the 80s.

As for the Attitude Era, Vince himself threw that under the bus.
