I’ll readily admit I was worked by Cody when he said to expect a 2015-njpw/ufc hardstyle type wrestling promotion. Bought it clean. Now I just skim through wrestling politics and dirt sheets. Ultimately my only want for wrestling right now is for Kenny and friends to finish out in WWE, especially after Punks return and Tony’s odd borderline unhealthy obsession with the guy.
I just don’t get how you can’t understand power levels in a kayfabe stance. You bring this pudgy frail looking guy in his 40s who hasn’t wrestled in 7 years and you have him go over young men in their primes. In my opinion Tony basically set the power levels as:
>The two guys who beat the shit out of Punk in UFC
>Punk
>Kenny
>everybody else
No matter how much you ignore it the fact is that the strongest guys in AEW in theory are the two most mediocre fighters in ufc because of Khans booking of Punk.
If Punk really wanted to come back and do good he should have done the rusty vet gimmick losing all his matches for the first 6-8 months slowly gaining confidence and steadily getting the hang of it again. Just my two cents.w0xwpn
