Before that, I stopped watching WWE in 2001 because it became laughably bad and just got worse. I was also growing up, was in high school, etc, and wrestling was seen as gay and uncool.
But yeah, my friends told me to check out NJPW and I started watching it, got hooked, watched from 2012 up to current and also followed AEW from its creation in 2019.
I am only interested in good professional wrestling and AEW delivers on that (sometimes anyway). It's the only American wrestling show that has a chance to be decent.
I have no ill-will towards WWE. I haven't watched it in so long that I don't think about it at all. It definitely has nothing to do with why I watch AEW.
