They didnt even cancel Raw the very night it was revealed Chris Benoit was dead.
They were live with vignettes saying how great of a person he was as news slowly trickled in that he'd murdered his wife and son.

Could you imagine if this had happened in the social media era? People learning about it being a murder/suicide as the show was airing. Would WWE cancel the show halfway through? We only missed that by a few years.

Well there was still the internet and social media was burgeoning, there was Myspace and such. I remember being on a wrestling forum as it happened and we learned live. It had an irc chat but I never joined, makes me wonder what it was like that night.
