Combine that with certain odd gestures and facial expressions and it becomes unmistakable. The way their features are positioned, the way they move their mouths when they talk or laugh or smile, etc/ Dave has that for sure, it's hard to put your finger on exactly what it is but in his case his squinty eyes and retard smile are part of it. Lance doesn't really give me that impression though, he comes across just quiet and awkward. He could well be on the spectrum but with a different kind of autism.
