Doing SOMETHING is always better than doing nothing in this case. If the #1 company let him go, his best option was always going to the #2 company.

The problem is simply that he is black.
People love the culture but hate looking at the people. Rock, Cena, Reigns? All got over by, in Rock’s case, highlighting their blackness or, in Cena and Reign’s case pretending to be black.
Hell, Okada stole his entire gimmick from D'angelo Dinero.
Wrestling is practically begging for a black face of the industry but no company wants to push one effectively because wrestling caters to nationalism above all else.
