They couldn't beat the attendance record which is 160k on day 1 and 190k on day 2 at Collision in Korea so they started seething and had a backstage fight again. Since the rest of the booking decisions could be seen from a mile (brits winning at the UK PPV) nothing else of importance happened to the backstage fight overshadowed a somewhat decent PPV.

They didnt build to any of the matches outside the main event and all the build for that was to see some kind of big ending - which didn't really end up happening. This is why you need story, to make the matches memorable

It’s natural people want to talk about punk. He’s heavily associated with the last real star in wrestling, John Cena. So by proxy Punk is AEWs biggest star. Maybe if they had a more experienced Booker and promoter people would actually have an interesting on air product to discuss and brats like jungle boy wouldn’t be on the roster to begin with.

very poor booking to be honest. Too many dimeless, heatless tag team matches. Sting/Darby Vs Christian/Swerve was the only truly good one. It's videogame style booking i.e., using multi-man tag matches to cram more people onto the card. The idea is

but it doesn't really work that way in real life. People want to see their favorites, but they want to see their favorites doing something that matters. A big battle royal with a fast pace and a relatively short time frame would have given more people a spot on the card without taking up so much of the show.

oh yeah much bigger. The difference is that Hogan was a legitimate megastar and thus a legitimate draw. Another difference is that Hogan just refused to work with certain people whereas Punk seemingly can't get along with anybody except FTR.

never seen it but from looking at the card, I tend to agree. They put all the tag matches at the beginning for a warmup, then did all the singles matches in order of importance. Only exception was the tag title match but obviously that is more important than the other tag matches.

Yup. And I honestly think that's far more damning than any backstage fight or drama. Doesn't matter who's right or wrong, that's just some bullshit between him and one or a few other people. This though affects the entire company and its image and the hard work of everyone who is just doing their job. If that was me at least I know I'd be pissed. AEW deserved its moment in the sun for at least a little while. It wasn't the greatest show ever but it was still a good one, and it was definitely an important show for them. Funny enough just like the last one Punk pulled that shit on.

Well, the ppv was just more lies from Tony, like Fight Forever. Many promises made and nothing delivered. AEW fans are sick of AEW and are going to have worse ratings than their ratings last week.
