I have a friend that got into hard drugs and it became fucking impossible to deal with him after a while. He knew he was fucking everything around him up, knew that he was deteriorating and losing his family's trust, but kept doing it. Eventually, his family and his friends gave up on him. I don't even know if he's alive anymore.
