>>11365433Sure but the trashy aura doesn’t really exist in Mexican or Japanese wrestling. Maybe something like FMW, but I mean, NJPW, AJPW, NOAH, they kinda just are what they are. You’d see normal businessmen front row. I’m interested in wrestling’s perception. A lot of people see it as for kids or something trashy akin to a NASCAR fan base, you know what I mean? To me, wrestling is a canvas, literally and figuratively. It can be anything, whether that be something trashy, something cartoonish, a test of might, a test of will, an acrobatic display, whatever, sky is the limit. I do see wrestling as something of an art form. It has a lot in common with theatre and ballet. The moves are their dance routine, their entrances/storylines are the theatre, but the unique aspect is the scripted element and crowd participation. There’s a certain spectacle about it, too. It’s unique. I just think it can be a lot more than trash, slop, cartoon shit, whatever. But again, we all have preferences and whether we see something truly new out of pro wrestling will depend on the minds that run it. It’s silly but unique.
