I wouldn't say dementia, mentally I think he's fine but his brain obviously got ravaged by the years of abusing drugs and he's just in constant pain and obviously not happy with how his career wrapped up. He couldn't work, he was lucky he was even cleared to bump at all. Corbin was the safest opponent he could work with, he could take a few soft bumps, get some heat off Corbin without killing himself and then go home.
That formula would have never worked with Cena or Samoa Joe or AJ or Lesnar

Kurt Angle's last real wrestling match was against Bobby Lashley in Impact. What's wrong with that?

His body was washed once he got clean from painkillers. He stopped being "Perc angle" in TNA. He still worked his ass off for guys like Lashley, Roode and Drew but those matches took their toll and he was a glorified part timer. He got heat for not telling anyone about the moonsault in the cage match with Roode and it fucked him up. He didn't know how to not go at 200mph

WWE wasn't going to sign him while he was addicted to pain killer and by the time he was clean and free, his injuries couldn't justify being booked like a Lesnar/Taker/HBK attraction.

He got to come back with a HOF induction, AN authority figure role, and got to work tags with the Shield, at Survivor Series and with Ronda.
It was unrealistic and dangerous to think his body could handle one more 2002 like run

You need to watch more wrestling. I love Kurt, but the only matches of his I'd rank this high are his tag match with Benoit against Edge and Mysterio, his singles title match against Benoit at the Rumble (though it has a pretty cold crowd for the first half, compliments of following the worst Triple H match of the decade, so I don't blame Dave for docking a quarter snowflake), and his match with Michaels at 'Mania 21 (which has a horrifying table bump botch that looked like it broke ribs, and Dave docks for botches). He's had many great matches besides.

Three stars and more means the match was at least good, and four stars means it was at least great. Five stars and up means it was better than great. Maybe you do it differently, but if you're not taking advantage of the full bredth of possibilities offered to you by a scale, you're doing your ratings wrong.

That's just not something anybody wanted to see. Vince totally did that to fuck with the guy. He wanted a receipt for Kurt over him leaving the company and going to TNA.

Kurt would've, could've, and should've, taken at least a three-year break from wrestIing at some point in the '00s. That's his foolish fault, but he still deserved be treated better than that for his last match.

It was time. Angle should've won, then won again on the next night. They desperately needed a new top babyface after how thoroughly Austin was cooled and how well Rocky's acting career was taking off. Give Angle at least till the Royal Rumble, then have Triple H go over in their return match at the Rumble, then have Austin win the Rumble, Jericho vs. Angle at Mania, Austin vs. Triple H for the title, and Hogan vs. The Rock in the main event, because that match was way too hot to be put on anywhere but last. It would've accomplished the same things they wanted, and it would've been a much better show.

Yeah. He main evented the 9/11 show and the crowd were going crazy for him. I don't understand why they went heel with him so quick after 9/11. All I can think of is that with the Rock and Austin as faces again they needed as many heels as possible but seems counter intuitive not to be grooming Kurt as a big face for the company.
