>>11386956Rock and Austin are more recent examples. In reality it's a style of promo that was really widespread throughout the 80s and 90s especially in the upper card, with guys like Savage, Hogan, Flair, Rock and Austin cutting those fast-talking high intensity promos which seem to have fallen out favor with wrestlers these days preferring to come out and just talk candidly in their regular cadence. Even midcarders like Dusty and Road Dogg were doing it. Even the ones who couldn't do it well were still cutting promos along that line of style, look at guys like Lex Luger for example, look at random 80s and 90s promos with talent you've never heard of in obscure regional feds, a tonne of people cut promos that way back in the day. It's a lost art and that's why LA Knight is over because hardly anybody cuts wrestling promos anymore.
Come to think of it, TNA was one of the last bastions of that style, most of the guys today who cut that style, few as they are, honed it in TNA, Samoa Joe for example. So calling him an attitude era fanboy is kinda off the mark since he learned that style on the job while it was still popular. It's not like he's some mark who went back and copied it after it had already fallen out of fashion.
