But at this point Cody redeeming himself and finishing the story at 40 seems to be the most logical route

Prior to Summerslam he only defended the belts at Mania. With the way they have him defending it it seems he could easily get more years. The only issue he runs into really is potential injury. Which with his schedule is definitely less likely in theory then it is with most other guys on the roster.
