So it's pretty much over right? They are no longer a serious threat to WWE. Which era are they in right now? 2000s WCW or 2012-present TNA? Even when AEW first started with a ton of indie fags they seemed like they had potential to make stars. They seem so creatively bankrupt now and it's not exciting anymore.

No one besides Tony thought they were a serious threat to WWE. That said, Punk or no, AEW seemingly has a super hardcore audience (850K people will watch the show no matter what), so they can at least call themselves a reliable alternative

Post-Hogan TNA is right where they are. Interesting thing is that due to Punk I felt like a lot of guys were locks to leave as soon as they could and now it seems like they might be able to hold on to more guys and keep them out of the WWE midcard.
