There is actually quite a bit of nuance as to why the wrestling business is the way it is (soft). There are 4 that I can think of, and all can be traced back to the popularization of the internet.
>Dirt sheetsPretty self explanatory, behind the stage drama is now more easily available, and fans are now smarter than ever. Wrestlers read shit online behind their back and get bitter, when previously things were probably simply left unsaid.
>Awareness surrounding the dangers of foods and concussionsMore research into these subjects, fans learning about how fucked up these wrestlers are have pressured these companies to crack down on roids, and introduce concussion protocols
>The rise of indie fedsIt's easier than ever to consume indie slop thanks to the internet. What used to be considered niche as fuck, you now have feels making good money on the Indies. This is bad because when a vanilla midget acrobat can't get a job at the WWE they go to the Indies. Then other low T manlets on the internet see them be successful, they are inspired to wrestle, perpetuating endless generations of soft people becoming wrestlers
>TV ratingsInternet has ranked TV ratings. Obviously wrestling is worse now (in part due to the things I mentioned above), but internet video, and games have taken away a large market share from wrestling's TV ratings and tv as a whole. When wrestling was huge in the 90s, wrestlers were more inclined to squash their differences for the sake of making money
Basically wrestling is fucked, and Vince Russo saying "back in my day blah blah" isn't a based take because that wrestling is never coming back, no matter how much you tweet about it.
