I can agree with his criticisms about inconsistent story lines and too much uncoordinated flippy shit, but his gripes about gimmicks and risky sets is hypocritical when he's also the man who fell from a scaffolding for a match, but rips on shit that's far less risky now (I could respect it if he approached it from a "I did it and it was dumb and I was dumb, so learn from me" angle, but he doesn't from what I've heard). He called ECW 'hardcore bullshit', while still appearing on it for an angle, and loves Terry Funk. I'm not saying he's wrong about everything, but he has a lot of contradictory positions that don't get much leeway with as critical as he is about everything, while holding them.

Cornette was never in charge of WWE, WCW, or ECW, he hated most of the shit they did and did what he wanted over there, or at least tried to, with all the ups and downs it implied for him, or people who worked with him. It's called the reality of life.

Yes, that's exactly what an echo chamber is. It's not just him standing alone and screaming his opinions into the void, it's him screaming them to a fanbase who are constantly giving feedback of agreeing and validating everything he says, no matter how absurd, while those who drop off aren't really noticed because he's still making money on it. There aren't other guys around him in the same position like in the business, that he knows and respects, reining him in and telling him where he's right or wrong, those are the people he's shitting on and burning bridges with currently.
