>There are two types of camps in AEW - Guys who see Tony as a pure money mark they can milk the rest of their careers, and guys who fantasize about growing the promotion to the level where it can compete with WWE. From the start, Phil took it upon himself to be the leader of the latter camp. YBs are obviously the leaders of the former. Ratio is about 8:2. Tony was manipulated to give stooges and family members of the former camp jobs in the office or long-term contracts that Tony was convinced they'd grow into with experience, even if they're not motivated to do so or even talented. Everyone connected to PWG or west coast indies that work for AEW are YB stooges, without exception.
>There aren't really any in-betweeners. Cody often said he was trying to grow the company but still left because Brandi couldn't get a fifth-Beatle contract and threatened divorce if he wouldn't walk away. Cody still contributed the most of anyone by scouting out good young indie talent and getting them signed, and his absence is felt as barely anyone newish besides the Acclaimed have gotten over organically.
>Wembley was a big shot in the arm for morale that Phil's termination has quickly deflated and made people uneasy all over again. Houses have been down across the country and Chicago could end up killed as a stronghold city after this week. There's also a noticable lack of top heels on the roster besides Christian (not counting Don Callis), as MJF's babyface run has been extended.
>There's a fear now that Collision will be cancelled and TV time back on a premium with the big-ego players getting their obligatory ____verse booking. It's hard to ignore that very few of these storylines are getting over in a big way. Jericho and Moxley still plan to keep their spots until they're 60 regardless of how they or their orbiters are tanking the ratings. They sometimes beef with the YBs over their time but everyone has the same overall goal (milk Tony), so it never lasts.
