>>11436091Not a lot of people seem to ever bring it up but a part of me now wonders if part of the reason it failed was because of a very subtle but low-key reason not many seem to mention. I myself never really noticed this with any promotion actually until more recent years.
Most wrestling promotions actually use smaller rings than WWE. WCW of course being one of them. It seems there are some pros and cons that goes into the size of the wrestling ring. For one if its too small it will look absurd of course but one positive is the smaller WCW rings that most other companies also used seems to make matches a bit faster pace. For cruiserweights and the modern wrestling style today this actually would seem preferable. However another negative could be that casuals might perceive the smaller ring and think it looks a lot more amateur than WWE. So they'll write it off as inferior right off the bat.
I don't know for sure though. One thing seems for sure though is that the smaller rings WCW, TNA, ECW, etc, all used do seem to have had some impact on how their matches actually looked. I wonder what you guys think. One other thing though is WCW used to have some amazing setups and locations that you just don't see in wrestling anymore. Some of those ppv setups they did were great like Halloween Havoc.
