It was, mostly. They had relatively few truly great matches, but the TV shows were pure kino because they usually clipped together the best stuff. You’d get promos, highspots, maybe a few clipped matches and music videos and shit like that. The Sandman return was one of the most kino moments in wrestling history and they aired a fucking fancam, IIRC. People talk shit about annoying crowds trying to get over now but back then it was great and really set their show apart. I think they experimented with more traditionally formatted “TV tapings” during the TNN days but it wasn’t their usual thing. It made you feel like the live show was the big selling point. That’s why Hardcore TV generally holds up better than their PPVs. I was never more into any TV show in my life before or since.
