Does WWE help it's talent Ever, when it comes to building new stars?
No.
In fact you can argue that in the last 20 years it hasn't happened once.
Bryan did it by himself while being held back.
Sami did it by himself while being held back.
Roman, WWE tried and failed, then he changed his gimic up and found himself.
Question 2.
Who in the company has the talent, and the gimic or story line to be an actually captivating world champion?
Who has the Ability to become white hot?
Drew?
Not even close, not talented enough, or at very least his character isn't 3 dimensional enough.
Same with Braun, or Lashley..
And yes SAME with Cody, who obviously has a well defined ceiling that he will Not break through without WWEs help.
The only guys who will become white hot are those who take their own booking on their own backs.. and the only guys in the company with that level of talent to accomplish that are Sami and maybe LA Knight at the moment.
No one else is even close.
Genuinely no one is close, not even Cody.

So, should Sami have won that match?
Not really, the timing was bad and WWE were way too stupid to see where Sami was steering the ship.
If they were smart Sami would have either been booked faster pre rumble, then won the rumble then beat Roman at mania, or held off till summerslam
