ECW used to fill out the Hammerstein Ballroom, Lucha Underground had that little TV studio, TNA did the same, ICW used to play clubs and bars, they all looked great on camera, gives it a cool underground type of vibe. That's how you have to present it if your crowds aren' big. I can't take wrestling seriously when it's presented with big production and a mainstream vibe but it's in a 5k arena with 2k people. It either needs the big crowd mainstream appeal of WWE or the underground alternative appeal of those other shows, this middle ground just doesn't work for me. Someone posted a picture of an AEW house show yesterday in some small but packed arena with small basic stage and it looked cosy as fuck, no reason they can't do that on TV.
