>>11464855It's not a win when the only thing people talked about is the backstage stuff. And they're coming back the following year which makes this completely fucking pointless.
Look at Arthur Ashe's returns. They did 18000- 20000 with comps, the first year and two years later are only doing 9000.
WWE's overall run in the same time has seen an increase in live shows, tickets and merch and they have a huge name out there. Ratings might be eh for both, but WWE is killing it on every measurable level. AEW has fallen.
This is like when WCW had 40000 people in the Georgia Dome off of one week of hype. The following year they saw a huge decrease and only fit 19000, with 6000 comps. Shit, it's even worse because Tony basically spilled the beans that the Wembly show is another yearly thing so it won't do anything near that the next time they return. Especially after this show didn't have any surprise or anything.
AEW is following all the stupid things that WCW did while being far-less interesting. There are no angles or things that sell the show. At most, you'll watch a good match that you'll forget just as quickly because the overall quality of work has improved in general. So who the fuck cares if Dave gives a 6 star to something, when you know he's going to forget about it the next week for some other match he gave 5 stars.
The company is objectively falling and it's going to be really bad once MJF decides to leave, because they never bothered to build anyone else.
