He’s in my top 20, easily. I’ll agree he’s the weakest of the pillars and Akiyama is better, but Taue was active the same time as the GOAT’s. Taue was more concerned with cooking. He’d bring his cookware to the dojo. Still managed to be a legend despite this.

Why can't I enjoy both? I love Taue and I love the other pillars. Misawa isn't any less good at pacing and selling just because he sawdusts himself every big match.

He doesn’t look that bad in comparison. Just has less of a notable move set. Taue is still leagues ahead of top American wrestlers of the time. I would very possibly consider him better than Bret and Hashimoto, for example. You would never see me disrespecting Taue. I want to visit his steakhouse.
