It's been a weird feud.
They had a match in March/April at the ROH PPV. Eddie knocked coffee onto Claudio to build that up and Claudio called him a worthless bum or something of that nature. They had the match, Eddie lost, then Eddie did an interview and didn't appear for months after. Eddie then attacked Claudio on AEW TV. Somehow, this lead to Eddie giving away his ROH title shot (that we don't know how he got) to Mark Briscoe due to being in the G1. Mark got injured so that never happened. The match was then given to Pac, who earned this by never actually competing in the new version of ROH. Pac was the mystery man in Blood and Guts against Claudio then lost.
Claudio beat Pac and Eddie came back from the G-1 and they've kind of been feuding since. Eddie returned to ROH TV last week, fighting Gringo Loco and Blake Christian, and there was no mention of Eddie and Claudio feuding. Then, Eddie and Claudio agreed to a match last night for Grand Slam.
It's been a bizarre feud as the two have hated each other for 6 months now and have only fought once. To really follow this feud, you have to watch ROH TV, all 3 AEW shows and actively follow 2010's Chikara and 2010's internet message board gossip.
