I like Season modes in wrestling games because the games throw me events and I have to deal with them.

I find games like EWR hard to enjoy because I have to plan cards and the events aren't really involving the wrestling; it's the business sim events that make saves interesting, and they tend to just be "How can you get a number higher?"

Am I missing the fun?

It's a glorified rng text game. It's fun for a bit but I don't think it's possible to play more than an in game year of one of those games unless you're autistic. Not an insult, just there's literally nothing to gain from it and it's just strings of repetitive text
