all wrestling games are shallow since all of the players pretty much play the same way as opposed to a real fighting game where they try to balance different characters and techniques between the fighters.

at a certain point, unless the gameplay itself is top tier, the only replay value comes from online which is only limited to the newest iteration of the series

I can’t remember how it was in the N64 days but it seems like in 2K you can reverse anyone’s moves once you master the reversal timing.
