Supposedly Steiner was working while injured, but he could barely do anything at all in that match at the Rumble, and the crowd turned on him when he kept spamming the one move he could manage. No idea why they brought Steiner in as a babyface though, everyone knew by then he worked best as a heel.

Thought the posedown was a gay as hell, but I also remember thinking that triple h was actually bigger and it kind of spoiled Steiner for me. I thought Steiner had the largest arms in the world, that was his gimmick, but HHH looked just as jacked and even bigger

I think he had 'foot drop'. They brought him in as a face because big names are nearly always faces when they debut (for the obvious reasons) and HHH was a heel at the time so needed faces to work with
