>>11547323There's just no realistic way financially that a 4 year old company who is pretty clear second in a monopolistic marketplace, is only turning over $100m a year, has no assets on its books of note and has never made a profit is worth $2bn.
It's hard to explain how wrong this is to people who don't have much experience with finance.
Maybe this will help. In 2022, the UK Government was considering privatising Channel 4, a publicly owned broadcast network. Channel 4 was generating profit and its revenue was close to £800m a year. In addition to this, Channel 4 ran 12 separate TV stations, operated a film company that helped produce hits such as Trainspotting and has a successful streaming service. Lastly, it also owned extremely valuable office space in the Wrst End of London, one of the most expensive office districts on the planet.
The sale price was going to be £1.4bn. And that was for 12 whole TV STATIONS in a profit generating company with asset ownership and equity.
$2bn for AEW is mental. In fact it's so mental its retarded, frankly. Newcastle United was just bought for £300m. CAA is the world's largest media, sports, and entertainment agency and was purchased recently for $6bn. Are you telling me a mid tier TV show is worth a third of CAA? That's mental.
The trolling on here is trolling and that's fine but the amount of "journalists" in wrestling who refuse to challenge this number shows how much of a shill industry it is.
