I watch the Flair-Steamboat trilogy as they happen and thought they were great matches. Meltzer was a non-entity then so he doesn't factor in to the love the match gets. I do think it was helped by the goodwill Steamboat had with the fans after his WM3 match against Savage and weren't disappointed because the Flair match delivered what was expected.
