I actually work in the show business, and I will clarify this for you all

Tickets sold and paid attendance is the same thing. Yes the name may be a bit confusing, but what it really means is the number of people that paid to attend a show, regardless if they do end up going to the show or not.

In this case, all in, aew sold the 81k tickets as in the paid attendance was "81k", but the scanned attendance (turnstils) was 72k. because around 9k did not attend for whatever reason, whether tony bought them or train strike or whatever

Again you are mistaking 2 different things or are just being a troll on purpose. Yes attend means going in person to said event, and that number is the total of people that were inside a place to watch a show (people that bought ticket, cleaning personel, comps, etc), again paid attendance might be a stupid name but does not mean people in attendance that paid for the ticket, those are Turnstill/Scanner numbers, tickets that are given awat to companies and charities don't count for that metric.

So for the last fucking time, paid attendance is just "tickets sold"
