Tony had held 9 jobs in his life. All 9 of them were funded by his Dad. 5 of the companies went bankrupt or entered administration while Tony was there. It's not a consistent business line either, Tony has been jumping around industries his while life as his "passions" change. One day he's a huge environmentalist, then when that failed he was a huge sports coaching guy, etc. He jumps around based on a whim, breaking companies and leaving a trail of unemployed people who bought into his temporary "life long passion".
He has no concept of management. At Fulham, he came in after his Dad purchased the club and he was given another undeserved and unearned role over actually competent people? His control there lasted perhaps 3 months before the entire club recognised he had no idea what he was doing and he was basically stripped of all day to day responsibilities. Despite this, Tony anointed himself not just the Sporting Director but also the Director of Football, General Manager, and Head of Football Operations. The funny thing is, all of the titles mean the same thing in football. It's the same job slightly renamed. But he decided to anoint himself all of the job titles because he thinks it sounds more impressive whereas its a source of mockery towards him in the game. He's done the same thing with AEW where he's given himself 5 job titles which is completely unnecessary.
The point is, to people within the industries he comes into with his "genius", he's an absolute joke. Among Premier League executives, he's a punchline. Fulham employees called him Frosty (Tony the Tiger is a stupid cartoon character plus cocaine).
His biggest qualification in life is being the son of a rich man and everybody knows it and laughs behind his back at him
