How popular and over was the Hulkster in his 2000s run in WWE? Was he one of the most popular wrestlers in the company on the tier of Stone Cold and The Rock? Were there already smarketties booing him? Was everyone wearing a Hulkster t-shirt, and talking about the latest Hulkster angle after the shows? Or was he seen as an old part time bitch like Carder was seen in his last run?

I never cared about him at all. I thought he was cringe and he made no sense to me. But then when he came out I popped anyway, I didn't even really know who he was. He just has that in him. He's the GOAT (after Inoki).
But after they fucked up the NWO again the only really cool bits were his team with Edge, the Lesnar Squash and Mr America tying into the Hogan and Vince feud but Mr America mogged Hogan easily

He wasn't that over by 2005. He's always been incredibly wise to the business though which is why they forced Michaels to go heel. This was right around Shawn's absolute peak in-ring and the Hulkster was worried he might get some noticeable boos if it was a face vs face program.

The result was 5 or 6 weeks of some of the best heel work of the 21st century. Thanks Hulkster.

My only exposure to Hogan was that he was one of the guys on the cover of WCW NWO Revenge which I thought was based and also one on the cover of Legends of Wrestling which I thought sucked so I was indifferent to him

Well they were forced to turn him face because he kept getting cheered over the top faces despite being a heel.

He only did short programs after 2003 and was always very over in those.

1. HBK Sucks
2. Cena and Batista were over as fuck in 2005 and Cena had a god-tier match with Jericho that night while HBK threw a temper tantrum and oversold everything Hogan did.
