Whenever I think of iron man matches Dolph vs Seth always comes to mind, they had like 10 pins in that I swear. I can't really remember much of the match itself, but I do remember the audience doing countdowns as the timer was going down. I wonder if something like that would happen again if they tried to do another 30-60 minutes iron man now

It might've been the start of it. I do remember how around that time people were really behind Seth which is why he got that main event at the PPV, but that match definitely didn't help him

he was still over, the problem is the main event of a ppv was an ic title iron man match with dolph fucking ziggler kek. and the match had terrible terrible booking with seth taking multiple falls early. and then he was back with ambrose after this and was over again for the rest of the year

Yeah that's true having it as the main event was definitely a mistake, felt like that at the time too. I know people were really behind him back then so they gave him the main event, but I think they should've had a different stipulation or at least booked it better because like you said the pins in it were crazy. Maybe if they took that exact same match but opened the PPV with it people would've been more into it
