>>11600486The weirdest thing is that Kingston playing the "how dare you go on to bigger things" crabs in bucket mentality is face.
>"You wouldn't shake my hand you thought you were better than me"He's in better shape, better wrestler, spent 9 years in WWE while Kingston didn't. I like Eddie, I always thought he should've been bigger sooner but his physique and sloppiness (that chop gif etc) held him back. But in kayfabe, in what world was Claudio not demonstrably better than him?
But Kingston being butthurt over a handshake from a guy who left for better things is the face rather than the sensitive whiny heel dragging others down. Meanwhile MJF is a face now because he got bullied at school and is friends with Adam Cole despite being a remorseless scumbag.
Same deal with CM Punk insisting he stayed face. Same with FTR.
This is the biggest problem AEW has. The moral compass is completely skewed. Too many of the faces aren't likeable, too many heels are only booed ironically/fans wanting to help the show and be in on the bit. It's like WWEs mid 00s-mid 10s love of asshole faces who had no meaningful friends, moral consistency or empathy, but in reverse. Every face is an overly "just like ME" audience avatar, for nerds, socially incompetent misfits, or people bitter at their dreams not panning out like others. And I say this as a socially awkward nerd who failed to make a career in his dream job after years struggling while a peer had huge success inside 3 months- difference is I'm self aware of my shortcomings and prefer aspirational characters to self inserts. AEW is the opposite.
