>>11650510Man I forgot how stupid wrestling fans are sometimes.
>Ziggler was never pushed!Ziggler was constantly pushed. People who arent pushed are people who don't get TV matches or TV time or interest. You've forgotten they exist. That's what not pushed means, not the guy with the third most televised matches in the history of WWE
>Ziggler could have been a bigger starHe could have been but he couldn't get over. Ziggler was pushed into prominent positions numerous times over the years, in fact I struggle to think of anybody who they've given more chances to than Ziggler over the years.
>Wdym Ziggler couldn't get over? I remember a huge pop when...Ziggler, in very specific moments in his career, got good crowd reactions. But wrestling fans often mistake being over and having a good reaction. Having a big reaction doesn't mean you're over, having people invest in you emotionally means you're over. People would chant FEED ME MORE on cue like the forced meme it was but that doesn't mean anybody actually cared about Ryback.
>EvidenceThe evidence is on the Network itself. You remember the Ziggler pop to win the WHC against Del Rio? Go watch the next two shows after that. He had almost no heat at all. Survivor Series ironman? Same, he was praised by veterans on the next shows but people weren't giving him good reactions then.
>But Meltzer said..This is actually a great example of the Ziggler problem. People didn't actually want Ziggler, they were using him as a proxy to ask for change at the top of the card. They wanted Super Cena gone and then Reigns gone. When they were presented with the prospect of a long term Ziggler run then they weren't enthused.
Daniel Bryan is the best example. Go and watch the crowd reactions post Rumble but before Mania. It was getting crazier and crazier and after Elimination Chamber when people realise he was going to be in the WM main event and was almost certainly going to win both matches, the heat very slightly cooled.
