Why did Randy Savage completely break down in the last stage of his career? By 1999 and his last appearance in 2000 he can barely wrestle and it's painful to watch him in the ring.

I don't think it's an age thing, given that Hogan, Flair, Sting etc continued to be able to work passable matches until the mid 2000s. I don't remember him suffering any major injuries, was it his steroid abuse that caused him to break down?
