As a NJPW fanboy, I don't watch a ton of AJPW, but Kento and Shotaro are both excellent and Yuma has tons of potential. Nakajima entering the fray would make things even more exciting on their end.

Look, dude, if I thought Nakajima was gonna have an IWGP run and win G1s or at least be finalist in them, I'd be all for it. He's one of the best Jap wrestlers around. I just don't think that's what would happen, though.

If I was him, I'd come either way.
He's a good wrestler like you say, so he benefits the most from visibility, from putting on good matches that are actually watched by people.

If he goes from NOAH to AJPW, he is knowingly going to be seen by less people. Why would he do that?
Much better to go to NJPW and earn your way up through great in-ring work like Shingo did. Hell, Shingo got started as a Jr. They probably wouldn't make Nakajima do that at least.

I'm saying what would be better in terms of Nakajima's performances. NJPW has a better roster overall, but Nakajima would basically do nothing. It's inherently less interesting to have someone, no matter how talented they are, if they are just glorified jobbers. What's the dream scenario here? Nakajima being Ishii? Because he honestly has no shot of even reaching Shingo levels, for a multitude of reasons.

Having even and actually unpredictable main event type matches in AJPW is what's best for us as fans. It sucks in that I'll have to go watch more AJPW matches, but it's better than him being wasted in NJPW.

Again, obviously he'd choose NJPW if he were to have the choice and assuming NJPW were interested. All I said is that I hope that's not the case. Would still be better than him somehow being toyed by Tony, though.

Nakajima vs Kenoh N1 finals. It's always my go to recommendation. Nakajima vs Kento doesn't hurt either if you want something recent plus a taste of AJPW's top guy.

Kento vs Nakajima from this year is one of the best matches of the year. Top 3, at least.

He's a mix of Tsuji, Shibata and peak-but-micless KENTA, but definitely better than Tsuji (As of now, Tsuji still got a ways to go)

Nakajima's reputation took a big hit when he KO'd Endo and then jawed with Akiyama.
After that moment, it seemed like NOAH began to trust him less and they took their foot off of the gas as far as pushing him.

NJPW would be bringing him in as a 35 year old.
They want someone of that age, in that position, to mainly be someone to help put over their young guys. They want a safe pair of hands, and Nakajima is definitely not that a safe pair of hands.

I'm not sure if they would even want him.

Of course.
If NJPW wanted Nakajima, he'd jump there no doubt.
It's not particularly likely NJPW does, though. It's 2023, not 2017. The picture has changed.

The Endo incident was mostly overblown. Nakajima didn't really do anything out of the ordinary in his NOAH matches and when he noticed Endo went out he ended the match but keeping it in heel fashion. If anything Akiyama shouldn't have been jumping Nakajima in the middle of the ring, especially since Akiyama should've been helping prep his own stablemate for a match against a NOAH competitor over a DDT one.

Hell, look at Ibushi... Morishima.. even Shibata is in the doghouse majorly with NJPW and would probably be seen as a liability by other Jap promotions
