Sports video games have been doing this for decades. I have a legit FIFA 13 copy that I can never ever play again simply because servers are down and you need to be online to play even offline matches. When I bought WWE 2k16 at least I could play single player. Developers do shit like this and then wonder why everyone just pirates their games.

The last 2 patches were just bug fixes and DLC implementation I was hoping they would do things like add extra customisation options etc because goddamn it's bare
